The project we had to do was a moving image advert and 3 print based adverts, we had to do this over the course of 4 weeks. My project was filmed inside and outside, for my inside shooting we shot in the creative studios in the studio, we filmed me sitting on the sofa in front of the green screen drinking coca cola. We did a medium long shot and a close-up shot. For the outside shooting we shot on a patch of grass just outside of the creative studios where we shot me tripping and falling over, we managed to get a decent amount of shots for editing, unfortunately we filmed the equipment in one of the shots. The equipment we used was a tripod, camera and a green screen. For props we used a sofa and a can of coca cola. What I learnt from filming outside was that you had to do a lot of adjustments to the camera to get the right lighting, which we did not do properly, so I had to adjust the lighting in premier pro. What I learnt from filming inside is that if you are using lights for the lighting, you need to make sure the whole of the shot has the same amount of light in order for the green screen to work.

The print based adverts I did were a poster a billboard and a bus banner. My poster design was a red background and my slogan was "feel the fizz" , I also put 2 coca cola cans clinging together and making a splash of lava to make it seem for fiery and dramatic. I finally put a coca cola logo at the bottom right of the poster. For my billboard I went with the same design because its quick to read and easy to notice. For my bus banner I went with a different design, I went with the red and white background and I put my slogan "feel the fizz" in the middle of it. What I learned from print based adverts was that they need to be easy to read and stand out which I think I managed to do.

For editing my piece I used premier pro, I edited me falling in slow motion to make I look for dramatic and engaging and a slight bit of humour. As I was falling in slow motion it would cut to loads of shots of me falling from different angles. I told some people to watch the first cut and they said they liked it because it felt longer than it was which is good since its only a 30 second advert. For the green screen I put a red background with the white line that coca cola usually have, unfortunately for the medium long shot the lighting messed up a bit so the green screen as I mentioned in the past paragraph, wouldn't work as well, so I had to fix it, but the only problem was that on the advert I looked a bit fuzzy and pixels were on me, but I still went with it. The shots of me sitting on the sofa was not in slow motion, I also added in the sound effect of me opening the can.

My target audience was to both males and females of the age between 13-25 because when you're younger than 13 you are not usually aloud fizzy drinks and when you get older you tend to stop drinking them, because of the sugar and the original coca cola that I am advertising contains a lot of sugar. I made a survey on the website survey monkey which I asked some questions like what is there income so I knew who to aim my product at and if they could afford it or not I wrote about this on my planning. What I learnt from the survey is that they all liked coca cola.

On my planning page I also did my risk assessment form which I put all the possible disasters that could occur during the filming, one thing occurred, a lecturer tripped over a wire but no one was hurt. Another thing on my planning page is the location recce, this tells where I am shooting and if I have permission to film there etc I also decided to film at a different location as well as the studio, I also filmed outside of the creative arts studio on a patch of grass I thought was a good idea to film on. My planning page also includes my treatment which tells you all about the advertising project. I also put my storyboard that I made on my planning page which gives the idea of what I was going to do, as I was recording I did change somethings that I thought would look better.

On my research page the first thing we had to do was to analyse two tv adverts which I did, I chose a Cadburys advert and a digestive biscuit advert, we had a task list of what to go over and analyse. Also on my research page was the questions from the survey I made and the responses I got. My research page also included a audience persona I made, which I wrote about my audience and their age range and what their interests were so I could get an idea of what type of advert I was going to do, so from the information I got, I went with a kind of dramatic and humour effect, because I needed to make the advert engaging. We also had to analyse two print based adverts which I talked about the design and what it means and how it engages you as the audience, I also talked about how its persuasive and makes you want to buy the product.

On my production page I wrote about my filming and editing of the moving image advert, I chose to edit most of the shots in slow motion to give the dramatic humour effect, I also put a dramatic opera song by Nessun Dorma to make it more engaging and funny. I also talked about how I edited my advert and how I used the green screen. What I learnt from using songs in my advert was that you need to make sure they are not copyrighted so next time I will try and use a song that is ok to use in future projects.

On my idea page I wrote about the ideas I came up with and the main one I went with and why I went with it, I also wrote about which 3 print based adverts I had chosen. My alternative idea was also put on my idea page incase I was unable to do my main idea. What I learnt from this is that you need a back up plan just in case something goes wrong.

I have learnt a lot from this project and got a lot of practise on editing and filming and how to use certain equipment such as the cameras, editing software and the green screen.

I will practise lighting to improve on future projects.
